The Finance Minister Jihad Azour met yesterday with a delegation from the French Development Agency to put the final touches on the agreement of the French contribution of 375 million Euros decided at Paris III.

The first payment of this contribution is valued at 150 million Euros and will be paid in the coming weeks, after the bill passes through all the French constitutional channels.

 

Azour stressed that the "Adoption of the French contribution, as well as the adoption of the EU aid worth 80 million Euros to Lebanon a few days ago, proves to the skeptical persons that Paris 3 continues its support and that this is proof that donors trust the Lebanese government’s commitment to the reform process, defeating the difficult circumstances that the country is witnessing".
